The management guru and premier consultant Peter Drucker once stated, “There is only one valid definition of business purpose- to create a customer. It is the customer who determines what a business is. He alone gives employment. And it is to supply the consumer that society entrusts wealth-producing resouces to the business enterprise.

So why then in the age of globalization and competitiveness has the consumer been so forgotten? Greed? Stategy? Misunderstanding?

Customers can be taken for granted with so many customers to choose from, organizations quickly forget those that placed them in their current state- customers. And most interesting is that good customers assist in maintaining profitability for any organization.

Recent research illustrates that clients do not believe that they obtain good customer service. Clients believe that they deserve to obtain good customer service- and that are correct! Organizations exist because of clients. Simply put, lights to not turn on, computers do not computer and salaries do not get paid without a client!
